Back Home

If we had forgotten for a second why we chose to move back home, God reminded us quickly.
Within the first 24 hours we were back Eli was visited by:
Every single grandparent he has
Every single GREAT grandparent he has
His great Aunt Terri
His uncle/Aunt/ Only cousin (on Rico's side)- complete with the most melt-your heart cousin play date ever.
**Don't mind Rico's crazy outfit…apparently the bottom half of him is Derby green while the top i still stuck in Kansas City. (he wears crazy combos to mow the lawn)
His aunt and cousin (on my side) saw him just a couple of days after we moved back
Lizzie refuses to say his name.
Oh she CAN..she can say anything.
My mom told her she was making a casserole, and she said "casserole" in context an hour later. So, she CAN, she just won't.
It gets worse, here's what my sister wrote to me on Facebook before the move:
Truth: When I (just now) broke the news of your big news to Lizzie this was the reaction:

Me: "Hey Lizzie good news! Guess what? DO YOU WANT RICO TO MOVE HOME?"
Liz: "Hip hooooo-ray! Yes"
Me:" ...and Aunt Alli will move home!"
Liz:"Yep!"
Me:" and baby Eli will move to home too!"
Liz:"Baby Alli? I don't yike it."

We did our best to convince her that he was cool. She was much more interested in his car seat. "Baby sit" she kept telling us once she got it buckled up.
We did get her to compare her "piggies" (feet) with his,
cover him in a blanket, and even had her show us where all his body parts were,
"Does baby Eli have eyes? Where are baby Eli's eyes?"

Still no progress on getting him called anything other than "Alli Baby"…there's nothing but time though.
We also went on a couple of family walks. On one, we walked to Rico's old Elementary School and Eli had his first swinging experience
On the other, we stopped by Eli's great grandparents' house.
On a whim
We were just "in the neighborhood"
That's freaking awesome.

One last nostalgic picture: Eli in his dad's baseball cap.
Rico wore this hat nearly every day since high school.
Crazy.
...and cute
